The largest city in Kansas, Wichita is the county seat of Sedgwick County. It is located in south central Kansas on the Arkansas River. Wichita is known as the “Air Capital of the World”, as several aircraft corporations such as Stearman, Cessna, Mooney and Beech were founded in that city. Boeing and Airbus maintain a workforce in Wichita. Throughout the years, the city has evolved into a cultural and entertainment center.

Shawnee, Jackson, Jefferson, Osage and Wabaunsee counties. Topeka means “to dig good potatoes” in the languages of the Kansa and Ioway, two Native American tribes.
